Netpoint Solutions were approached by a 3PL Warehousing Organisation to design, install and configure networking infrastructure across multiple sites.
An assessment of the existing set-up revealed a number of key failings. In addition to being insecure and unreliable, the cabling and infrastructure was found to be insufficient.
The organisation required a secure and reliable connectivity solution in order to provision full
wireless coverage throughout the offices and warehouses, including hand-held mobile devices, and to facilitate barcode scanning and stock control.
To enable 24/7 uninterrupted service at its required levels, an installation of cabling infrastructure was required, in addition to the implementation of a Wide Area Network (WAN) with redundancy.
As always, the installation project had to be delivered on time, on budget, and on value – meeting the exacting requirements of the customer.
How Netpoint Helped
After completing a site survey, the team designed networking infrastructure specifically tailored to the functionality of the organisation. We subsequently carried out the installation and configuration of cabling, fibre, network equipment, switches, firewalls, wireless access points and servers.
Dedicated resources were made available to the project in order to honour deadlines and overcome frustrations, allowing us to concentrate on what we do best.
Results, Return on Investment and Future Plans
In addition to achieving significant cost savings, the wall-to-wall wireless coverage, with redundancy and monitoring, has substantially reduced downtime, ensuring the organisation remains in operation 24/7.
Thanks to Netpoint Solutions and our continued network management service, the 3PL Warehousing Organisation in question is able to push on with their ambitious plans, confident in the knowledge that their infrastructure is secure, and that their overall operation is robust and agile.
